I prefer to use the Freestyle Lancets rather than the generic over-the-counter brand of lancets. Freestyle Lancets are more sturdy to use and are easier to cap when I have finished using them than the generic brand.

These work well in the lancet device that came with my FreeStyle Lite kit. The fact that the little plastic piece that originally covers the metal lancet tip is also made to be turned and snapped over the used metal tip is a great design feature. It has a flat side that sits still on a level surface allowing the lancet tip to be pushed into the cavity made to accept the business end of the lancet until they snap together. Quick and easy to use April 7, 2007

The reason for buying the glucose monitor and lancets was to keep track of our dog's diabetes. Recently, I've been using it for my own needs as I begin the testing process to find out if I, too have diabetes. The FreeStyle system is great because I don't need to use my finger tips for testing - the lancets and monitor can be used on less sensitive areas.

I have no problems with the product, they work like they are supposed to. I've never used another brand, so I can't compare it to others.
