When your children having diabetes, you must to do something to help your children off course, first thing that can do is to find out all they can about this condition while keeping stress at bay. Type 2 diabetes in children was not considered for this age group. It was considered a disease for adults. They even referred to it as adult-onset diabetes. Not anymore. Nowadays, too many cases are diagnosed in kids. During the past thirty years the statistics for obesity in children has dramatically growth up. Obesity has doubled for this group and teenagers. Studies have shown that the additional pounds add to the risk of developing diabetes. With the rise of obesity, type 2 diabetes in children go up in tandem. This is a risk factor that cannot be ignored are like Race: Hispanic, Black, and Asian Americans have a high risk. Insulin resistance signs are a high blood pressure and abnormal levels of lipids are two of these. And Family history, this condition increases when a close relative like a parent or sibling has type 2 diabetes. The signs and symptoms of type 2 diabetes in children, they do not quickly like the ones for type 1 because some do not even have symptoms. This is a sure sign that there is resistance to insulin, plus two of the above risks and obesity will probably show that the diagnosis will be positive. Lots children are becoming dangerously overweight at an earlier age than ever before. Obesity brings with it the threat of numerous diseases, ranging from bone and joint problems to asthma and type 2 of diabetes. A child begins to lose weight; these health problems seriously lessen or, go away altogether. Effect of obesity that is scarcely acknowledged or dwelled upon is the psychological effects that come with it. Some of the psychological damage from being an obese child linger, obese children tend to have low self esteem and less confidence in social situations than their peers. Sometimes they will even try to avoid gym class out of shame for their appearance. While obese children generally tend to have poor body images, this is not helped by all the teasing that they tend to have to endure at school and in other social situations with their peers. This is why drug and alcohol use among overweight teenagers has also risen in recent years. Substance abuse problems also contribute to increasing the amount of depression an obese child suffers. |
